As a composer and interactive media artist I combine compositional and choreographic strategies, structured improvisations, as well as live video and interactive sound controls to form seamless processes of performance, participation, and interaction; dissolving the separation between artists, composers, performers, and the public.
I am dedicated to developing close collaboratives with virtuosic instrumentalists and other performers to create new concert music that often employs real time electronics strategies to evoke an experience of ritual magic and ceremonial transcendence.
I have recently received commissions from Lynn Vartan, the Ray-Kallay Duo, The Varied Trio, The Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts, Brightwork New Music, and Grammy-nominated pianist, Aron Kallay. Color Variations for retuned keyboard has been recorded by Kallay and released by Microfest Records.
Offering boutique Music and Sound Design for Virtual Reality and other Narrative Media.
I develop new multimedia technologies that play in the inter-section between the uncanny and the familiar. I am dedicated to exploring new interaction paradigms to create new technologies and cultural artifacts that conform to, as well as challenge and inspire the human mind and body.
Since 2010, I have developed and implemented a series of music technology outreach programs that have engaged thousands of people of all ages. My unique programming makes use of gaming controllers (i.e. Wiimotes, Kinect sensors), wacom tablets, various custom-built electronics, and original software to engage audiences in interactive musical experiences.
As an events curator, organizer, and producer, I believe in the power of curation and venue development to inspire composers, performers and other artists to create more art, and to engage their audiences and communities in new and dynamic ways.
